๐ General Dress Code Guidelines for Ayutthaya Temples
-
Shoulders and Knees Covered: Both men and women should ensure their shoulders and knees are covered. This means avoiding sleeveless tops, shorts, or skirts above the knee.
-
Avoid Tight or See-Through Clothing: Clothing should not be tight-fitting or transparent. Leggings, for instance, are generally not acceptable unless worn under a longer garment.
-
Footwear: While sandals are acceptable, it's customary to remove shoes before entering temple buildings. Therefore, wearing easily removable footwear is practical.
-
Scarves as Shoulder Covers: Using a scarf to cover bare shoulders is not always accepted, especially in more strict temples. It's better to wear tops with sleeves.ย
